In Africa, the big five refer to the elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and buffalo. Here in Australia, the big 5 are the kangaroo, koala, wombat, echidna, and platypus. However, when it comes to what God has planned for the future of this world, there is a very different big five! Here are the five cosmic-shaking prophetic events due sometime soon:
The Rapture of the Church (1 Thess 4:13-18): Believers, dead and living, are given resurrected bodies as they meet Jesus in the air on their way to heaven.
The Seven-Year Tribulation Period (Rev 4-18): God pours out his wrath on a hostile world, preparing the nation of Israel to receive her Messiah.
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ (Rev 19): Jesus returns with the saints and angels to the Mt of Olives, defeating his enemies in an instant.
The Thousand-Year Reign of Christ on Earth (Rev 20): Jesus reigns over the earth fulfilling the covenant promises to Israel. Believers reign with him.
Eternity (Rev 20:11-22:6): Believers live with Christ forever in bliss, while those who don’t believe in Jesus suffer eternal torment.
