Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. He is the second person of the Trinity who has existed from eternity past with God the Father and the Holy Spirit (John 1:1-2).
Jesus created the universe (John 1:3). He is life and light (John 1:3-4) that the darkness Is not able defeat (John 1:5). This same eternal God willingly added a fully human nature to his divine nature and became a man (John 1:14).
Jesus, the unique God-man, entered the world he created and came to his own Jewish people as their King. However they rejected him (John 1:9-11). But all who believe in him he makes children of God, giving them eternal life (John 1:12). To believe in him means to believe in who he is (the unique God-man), and in what he has done for you (died on the cross for the sins of the world).
Jesus dwelt on earth for around 33 years. He performed many miracles, made many converts, trained up a leadership group, and supplied all who believed in him with abundant grace (John 1:14-17). To see Jesus was truly to see God, and to understand Jesus was to understand God the Father (John 1:18 and John 14:7).
