Who is Jesus Christ? Is he a great prophet as the Muslims suppose; or a great teacher as moralists suggest; or an inconsequential Jewish teacher as some atheists claim; or the greatest created being as some cultists think; or is he someone much greater? The Bible paints the following picture of Jesus:
Jesus is the second person of the Trinity, God the Son. Along with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit he created all things (John 1:1-3).
Jesus is the unique God-man. Our ancestors rebelled against God and introduced evil into the world, so Jesus came to earth to make things right. When he came, he added a fully human nature to his divine nature (John 1:5-18).
Jesus is the Saviour of the World (1 John 4:14). Jesus is the one who dealt with evil by dying on the cross in our place and rising three days later.
Jesus is the only way to heaven because he is the definition of truth and the giver of life (John 14:6).
With all this in mind, Jesus truly is the KING of kings and LORD of Lords who one day soon is returning to judge the world (Revelation 19:11-16).
The identity of Jesus makes all the difference in the world. Do you know and believe in the real Jesus?
